These programs combine in-depth analysis based on
fundamental mechanical principles, with design challenges,
manufacturing techniques and emerging ideas, including AI
and data-driven engineering. ME students receive not only a
rigorous academic education, but also intensive experimental
experiences and collaborative works with peer students. Every
year, ME attracts and enrolls top-notch students in both the
undergraduate and graduate programs, showing a broad
interest in mechanical engineering, with 281 undergraduate
students and 564 graduate students enrolled during AY2020
— for a grand total of 845 students, including 59 international
students from 26 countries. ME is advancing in research and
education with active 53 faculties and 34 emeritus faculties.
ME research programs incorporate a growing postdoctoral
population of 42 research fellows and postgraduate trainees,
who are supported by Brain Korea 21 program of National
Research Foundation of Korea.
