The Master’s in Hydraulic Engineering at Chang'an University is a postgraduate program designed to provide advanced knowledge and technical expertise in the planning, design, and management of water resources and hydraulic infrastructure systems. The program develops in-depth competencies in areas such as fluid mechanics, hydrology, water conservancy engineering, river engineering, hydraulic structures, and flood control systems, enabling students to analyze and address complex water-related engineering challenges. Its curriculum integrates theoretical coursework with laboratory experiments, numerical simulation, and field-based research to enhance skills in water resource planning, hydraulic system design, and environmental water management. Emphasis is placed on sustainable water utilization, disaster prevention, and ecological protection in the development of modern infrastructure projects. Graduates are prepared for careers in water resource management agencies, hydropower enterprises, environmental consulting firms, engineering design institutes, and research institutions, or for pursuing doctoral studies in hydraulic or related civil engineering disciplines.
Research Field:
Sustainable development and efficient utilization of water resources in arid regions, Groundwater resources and their environmental impact, Hydrological ecology and water security, Hydrogeochemical process and their health effects, Seepage in lose and the prevention of water and soil disaster.
NOTE: The university may have additional program-specific eligibility requirements. It is recommended to verify these on the official university website.
