The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Sungkyunkwan University is dedicated to educating the next generation of global leaders in the IT industry with the best software development capabilities.

The department offers undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degree programs to achieve this goal. Established in 1982 as the Department of Information Engineering, it has become the flagship department of Sungkyunkwan University's College of Computing and Informatics, and operates strong research groups based on outstanding professors in the areas of systems/networks, artificial intelligence, and computer engineering/theory to promote research and education at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

• ‌ Affiliated College recruitment(Exploratory Studies)

: When advancing to the sophomore year and selecting a major,

it is mandatory to meet the language requirements below according to the track of the chosen major.

- Korean Track

: TOPIK(TOPIK IBT) level 4 or above when selecting the major before being promoted to sophomore year.

- English Track

: IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 80 or above when selecting the major before being promoted to sophomore year.

※ ‌ Regardless of the language track at the time of admission, students of Exploratory Studies are free to select a major just

based on whether they meet the above language requirements, even if it is from a different track, before being promoted

to sophomore year.

• ‌ For English Track students, it is not required to obtain a Test of Korean Language Proficiency(TOPIK, TOPIK IBT)

in order to graduate.
