Students develop deep expertise in core and emerging areas of mining science and engineering, such as underground and surface mining methods, rock mechanics, intelligent mining, mine safety and environmental protection, resource planning and design, as well as advanced modelling and optimization techniques. The doctoral study emphasizes original research, critical analysis and innovation, supported by access to national-level laboratories, experimental facilities and collaboration with industry partners.
