In this specialisation you will develop your knowledge of Physics through advanced coursework; you will also have the option to undertake elective coursework in other subject areas relevant to career development in Physics. Studies will be chosen from a variety of topics including Quantum mechanics (compulsory), Condensed matter physics, Statistical mechanics, Quantum field theory, Classical electrodynamics & field theory, Quantum computing & information theory, Quantum fluids & many body theory, Data analysis & machine Learning, General relativity, X-ray optics & synchrotron science and Special topics in contemporary physics. In addition to coursework studies, you will complete a research project in theoretical, computational or experimental physics.

Entry Requirements
An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) with specific topic knowledge as outlined below, and at least 65% (high credit) average overall, or equivalent qualification and experience approved by the faculty.For Physics: Foundational knowledge in Multivariable calculus, including vector calculus; differential equations (Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations); linear algebra and matrices. A background in classical mechanics and field theory, including relativity and classical electrodynamics. A background in quantum mechanics at the upper-level undergraduate level.
