The Automation major at Nanjing Normal University is an undergraduate engineering program focused on the theory, design, and application of automatic control systems and intelligent technologies used in modern industry and smart systems. The curriculum builds a solid foundation in mathematics, physics, and basic engineering principles, and then advances into specialised courses such as control theory, sensors and actuators, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), robotics, embedded systems, industrial automation, and signal processing. Students learn how to analyse, model, and design automated systems that improve efficiency, accuracy, and reliability in manufacturing, production, and service environments. Hands-on laboratory work, simulation projects, and engineering design exercises give practical experience in system integration, process control, instrumentation, and real-world problem solving. Graduates are prepared for careers in industrial automation, robotics, control engineering, systems integration, smart manufacturing, and other technology-driven fields, as well as for further study in automation, control science, and engineering disciplines.
NOTE: The university may have additional program-specific eligibility requirements. It is recommended to verify these on the official university website.
