The Ecology major at Nanjing Normal University is an undergraduate program that focuses on the relationships between organisms and their environments, as well as the processes that govern ecosystems and biodiversity. The curriculum combines foundational biological and environmental science with specialized study in ecosystem dynamics, population ecology, conservation biology, environmental monitoring, and ecological research methods. Students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills through fieldwork, laboratory experiments, data analysis, and research projects that explore topics such as species interactions, habitat assessment, and the impacts of human activity on natural systems. Training also incorporates modern tools such as geographic information systems (GIS), ecological modelling, and environmental sampling techniques. Graduates are prepared for careers in environmental consulting, conservation management, ecological research, natural resource assessment, education, and related fields, as well as for advanced study in ecology, environmental science, or other life-science disciplines.
NOTE: The university may have additional program-specific eligibility requirements. It is recommended to verify these on the official university website.
