The Environmental Science major at Nanjing Normal University is an undergraduate program that equips students with a broad understanding of the natural environment, the interactions between human activities and ecosystems, and the scientific principles needed to address environmental challenges. The curriculum integrates core science courses—such as ecology, chemistry, geology, and atmospheric science—with specialised study in environmental monitoring, pollution analysis, ecosystem conservation, natural resource management, and environmental impact assessment. Students develop strong analytical and research skills through field investigations, laboratory experiments, data analysis, and environmental modelling. Emphasis is placed on both theoretical understanding and practical problem-solving, preparing graduates to assess environmental conditions, propose sustainable solutions, and support environmental protection efforts. Graduates are well prepared for careers in environmental consultancy, conservation agencies, government and non-profit organisations, sustainability planning, ecological research, and related fields, as well as for further study in environmental science and interdisciplinary environmental disciplines.
NOTE: The university may have additional program-specific eligibility requirements. It is recommended to verify these on the official university website.
