The Fine Arts major at Nanjing Normal University is an undergraduate program that fosters students’ creative expression, artistic skills, and critical understanding of visual art. The curriculum combines foundational art training—such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and design principles—with courses in art history, art theory, visual culture, and contemporary artistic practices. Students develop technical proficiency in a range of traditional and modern media while exploring aesthetic concepts, cultural contexts, and personal creative development. Practical studio work, critiques, and exhibition opportunities help students build a strong artistic portfolio and professional readiness. Graduates are prepared for careers as professional artists, designers, art educators, curators, cultural programme organisers, and creative industry practitioners, as well as for further study in fine arts, art history, visual communication, and related fields.
NOTE: The university may have additional program-specific eligibility requirements. It is recommended to verify these on the official university website.
