The Physical Geography and Resources Environment major at Nanjing Normal University is an undergraduate program that focuses on the natural processes shaping Earth’s surface and the interactions between physical environments and human activities. The curriculum integrates core physical geography subjects—such as geomorphology, climatology, hydrology, soil science, and biogeography—with applied study of natural resources, environmental systems, and sustainable management practices. Students learn how landscapes form and change, how climate and water cycles operate, and how to assess environmental quality and resource distribution. Training emphasizes both theoretical understanding and practical skills, including field investigation, geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, and environmental data analysis. Through projects and labs, students gain experience in monitoring environmental change, evaluating resource use, and proposing solutions for ecological conservation and sustainable development. Graduates are prepared for careers in environmental consulting, natural resource management, environmental planning and policy, GIS and spatial analysis, and research, as well as for further study in geography, environmental science, or related disciplines.
NOTE: The university may have additional program-specific eligibility requirements. It is recommended to verify these on the official university website.
