The Aquaculture program at Nanjing Normal University is an interdisciplinary undergraduate major focused on the science and technology of breeding, cultivating, and managing aquatic organisms such as fish, shellfish, and aquatic plants. The curriculum combines foundational coursework in biology, ecology, genetics, and water quality science with specialized study in aquaculture systems, nutrition and feeding, disease prevention and health management, and sustainable aquaculture practices. Students gain practical skills through laboratory experiments, pond and tank culture practices, and fieldwork, preparing them to analyse biological and environmental factors that influence aquatic production. The program equips graduates for careers in aquaculture operations, fisheries management, aquatic resource conservation, research institutions, and government agencies, and also lays a strong foundation for advanced study in aquaculture science, marine biology, and related fields.
NOTE: The university may have additional program-specific eligibility requirements. It is recommended to verify these on the official university website.
