The Bridge and Tunnel Engineering program at Wuhan University of Technology is an undergraduate engineering major focused on the specialised design, analysis, construction and maintenance of bridge and tunnel structures that form critical components of modern transportation infrastructure. The curriculum builds on core civil engineering fundamentals—such as structural mechanics, materials science, geotechnical engineering, and construction technology—while offering specialised study in bridge dynamics, tunnel excavation and support systems, structural design methods, seismic resilience, durability assessment and maintenance strategies. Through classroom instruction, laboratory experimentation and engineering projects, students learn to apply advanced analytical tools and industry-standard software to model, optimise and ensure the safety, serviceability and sustainability of bridges and tunnels under complex environmental and load conditions. Emphasising both theoretical understanding and practical engineering competence, the program prepares graduates for careers in infrastructure design and consulting, construction management, transportation authorities, and research institutes, and lays a foundation for further advanced study in structural, geotechnical and transportation engineering disciplines.
NOTE: The university may have additional program-specific eligibility requirements. It is recommended to verify these on the official university website.
