The Foreign Linguistics program at Wuhan University of Technology is an undergraduate linguistics and language studies major that provides students with a deep understanding of how languages work, how they are structured, and how they are used in real-world communication. The curriculum combines core theoretical knowledge—including phonetics, syntax, semantics, morphology and sociolinguistics—with practical training in foreign language proficiency, language teaching methodology, translation, intercultural communication and applied linguistics research. Students analyse both general linguistic principles and specific features of world languages, gaining skills in language analysis, effective communication and cross-cultural understanding. Through coursework, laboratory exercises and language practice, graduates are prepared for careers in language education, translation and interpretation, international communication, language technology and research, as well as for further study in linguistics and related disciplines.
NOTE: The university may have additional program-specific eligibility requirements. It is recommended to verify these on the official university website.
