The Safety Science and Engineering program at Wuhan University of Technology is an interdisciplinary engineering and social science major focused on understanding, preventing and managing risks in industrial, environmental and urban contexts to protect people, property and the environment. The curriculum combines foundational courses in physics, chemistry, engineering mechanics and systems theory with specialised study in fire science, occupational safety, risk assessment, safety management, disaster prevention and emergency response, as well as relevant laws and regulations. Through classroom learning, laboratory work, simulation exercises and case-based training, students develop skills in hazard identification, safety system design, risk analysis and the implementation of effective safety controls and emergency plans. Graduates are prepared for careers in industrial safety management, environmental and fire protection, risk consulting, government regulatory agencies and emergency planning organisations, and are equipped for further advanced study or research in safety science, risk engineering and related fields.
NOTE: The university may have additional program-specific eligibility requirements. It is recommended to verify these on the official university website.
