The Digital Media Art major is based on the needs of technological, social, economic, and environmental changes and sustainable development, especially in line with the development strategy and vision defined in the “Xiamen University's Construction Plan for First-Class Universities”. It adheres to the training concept of integrating digital media art with innovative media, and takes the teaching model of combining contemporary art and design theory with exploratory practice as its core. It firmly grasps the forefront and development trend of related disciplines. In particular, under the new model of Sino-foreign cooperative education, it integrates the advanced educational concepts and characteristic educational resources of both parties, promotes the construction of new liberal arts that integrate “arts, sciences, and technology”, and creates a talent training mechanism that is “interdisciplinary and cross-cultural”. The training model focuses on cultivating students’ global vision, innovative awareness, critical thinking and creative ability.
