The Integrated Traditional Chinese & Western Medicine (sometimes called Clinical Discipline of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine) at Zhengzhou University (ZZU) in Zhengzhou, China is a medical postgraduate program that bridges Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and modern Western medical science to train specialists capable of working with both systems in clinical and research settings. This discipline is offered at master’s and doctoral levels: the Master’s program (commonly taught in Chinese) lasts three years and equips students with interdisciplinary clinical knowledge and skills in both TCM and Western medicine for disease diagnosis and patient care, while the doctoral program (taught in English) lasts four years and focuses on research directions such as integrative treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, aging-related illnesses, pediatric, gynecological, urinary and respiratory system conditions through combined TCM and Western methods . Graduates gain a deep understanding of how traditional holistic approaches can complement modern biomedical treatment, preparing them for careers in clinical practice, research or healthcare innovation where integrative medicine is increasingly valued in China and globally
