The enforcement of the European Directives on the Liberalization of the Electricity and Natural Gas Markets, on the promotion of green, environmentally friendly technologies to convert sustainable energy resources, as well as on the energy efficiency of buildings and systems provides, for the first time, a set of integrated regulatory tools, towards a holistic approach of energy use, considering energy, environmental and economic parameters of energy policies and their implementation. Also Cyprus is anticipated in the following years to become an energy hub in the southern Europe and the MENA region, through the exploitation of its off-shore conventional energy resources. The master’s degree in Energy Engineering is a taught multi-disciplinary international programme suitable for applicants from engineering, architecture, planning and other relevant backgrounds. It is intended to investigate the latest design developments not only in the international scientific field, but also in the European and national regulatory and legal framework. Students will be acquainted with the required knowhow for monitoring and evaluating the energy efficiency of building systems, buildings, renewable and conventional energy systems including Oil & Gas, and of indoor environmental quality conditions, in accordance to legal and best-practice requirements, so as to be able to focus on the field of energy engineering.
