Our MA programme in Cultural Anthropology offers students a twofold opportunity. They can both explore historically and socially variable cultural phenomena across different regions including Europe, North America, Africa, Asia and South America with a special emphasis on Central Europe and deepen their understanding of local contexts and sociocultural processes in a globalized world. We welcome students from all over the world who are interested in cultural diversity, human nature, the application of social scientific knowledge and the special sociocultural contexts of Central Europe.

Bachelor's Degree with minimum 60% from a recognised instituition + Interview Required

Remarks

B2 Level English is Required - MOI is Accepted. Any kind of BA or BSc (or equivalent) diploma, preferably in the social sciences and a good command of English, written and spoken, proofed by a language certificate (B2 or higher), or a certificate of study conducted in English, and a motivation letter (2-3 pages). Applicants are admitted if they score at least 75 points (document assessment max. 20 points and online admission interview max. 80 points). The 20–30 minute online admission interview evaluates applicants’ knowledge of social sciences, research interests, motivation, commitment to cultural anthropology, and English proficiency. Candidates discuss their background, interest in Central Europe, research focus, and career goals. Assessment is based on English proficiency (30%), motivation letter (30%), social science literacy (20%), interest in Central European sociocultural issues (10%), and motivation to apply knowledge in practice (10%), totalling 60 points.
