The Petroleum Geoengineering master’s programme builds on strong foundations in earth sciences (geology, geophysics, geoinformatics, hydrogeology) and also basic petroleum engineering basic skills for the development, production, processing and transportation of hydrocarbons. Students will have an overview of the entire upstream part of the petroleum industry. The programme focuses on competencies, skills and methods applied in geology, geophysics, petrophysics and geochemistry, which are essential for hydrocarbon exploration, field development and production projects. Special attention is given to the intersection between geology and petroleum engineering including but not limited to estimation, categorization and classification of resources and reserves as well as the management of petroleum exploration and production projects.

B2 Level English is Required - MOI is Accepted. The entrance examination involves four stages. First, applicants are screened through DreamApply, and those without a relevant bachelor’s degree or B2-level English proficiency (or proof of studies in English) are rejected. Next, documents are evaluated for up to 30 points based on transcripts and professional background (15 points), motivation letter (10 points), and the ranking of the previous university (5 points). This is followed by a 20–30 minute online entrance exam assessing management knowledge, professional or thesis/project skills, and spoken language ability, worth up to 70 points. Finally, scores are combined, and applicants who achieve at least 60 out of 100 points are admitted.
