Consistently with the aims of the LM-55 Cognitive Sciences class, the master's degree
programme in Cognitive Forensic Sciences aims at providing its graduates with advanced
and multidisciplinary training (psychological, legal, philosophical, neuroscientific,
methodological, and technological) on the topics of cognitive sciences applied to the legalforensic context. The training objectives refer to the development of theoretical and
applicative knowledge outlining a professional figure capable of providing interdisciplinary
and multidisciplinary skills leading to a comprehensive and integrated vision of the criminal
event. Such a vision is strongly needed in a field in which the important technical-scientific
advances may make it difficult to analyse the various sources of evidence in an integrated
manner and to avoid making mistakes with serious consequences, both for the individual and
for the community.
