The aim of the Quantitative Methods for Finance course is to prepare students
for careers as quantitative analysts. Students enrolled in the Master’s Degree
Programme in Quantitative Economics and Finance (MQEF) will acquire advanced
knowledge of quantitative methodologies and learn to apply them to Finance,
particularly in the context of financial decision-making for companies and public
administrations. The curriculum includes courses in Economics, Mathematics,
and Statistics, providing a solid foundation for analysing economic systems and
making informed decisions in economics and finance. Additionally, the programme
incorporates business-related subjects to complement the technical skills. Students
will also gain proficiency in the most widely used statistical software in research and
industry, as well as experience working with economic and financial databases. The
skills acquired during the programme will enable graduates to enter the job market
as quantitative analysts in research departments of statistical agencies, financial
institutions, and central banks, as well as pursue careers as financial analysts and
project risk managers in banks and financial companies.
