The main educational objective of this Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) programme is to prepare professionals with a sound expertise in science and an engineering attitude. A Physical Engineer is able to “produce” innovation both in the industrial environment as well as in basic research. He is highly competitive in the global market, with particular reference to the sectors where solid-state physics, optics, photonics and nanotechnologies are developed and routinely employed. More specifically, the Physical Engineer can approach all the industries and research labs based on advanced technologies, which may include material science, lasers, photonics devices, biomedical optics, etc. The programme has three possible finalizations: Nano-optics and Photonics; Nano and Physical Technologies; Semiconductor nanotechnologies.
NOTE: The university may have additional program-specific eligibility requirements.
It is recommended to verify these on the official university website.
Extra Notes
The total annual amount (given by the sum of all contributions due) is divided into 2 instalments (there are no further instalments of the contribution): 1st instalment of 890.04 € (except in cases where the student can request a reduction, pursuant to the Budget Law 2017 as subsequently amended and supplemented - see below); 2nd variable instalment by which the student pays the remaining amount.
The annual all-inclusive contribution is equal to €3,726.00. This amount, however, must be fully paid only by a limited number of students; in most cases, there is the possibility of financial aid that allows to reduce the contribution of a significant amount, as explained below.
In case of withdrawal from studies or transfer to another University for the 2025/2026 academic year, the first instalment is not due. If you decide to withdraw or move after having already paid it, you will also be required to pay any second instalment.
Please note that to submit your Study Plan you must have already paid the first instalment.
*NOTE : The program is eligible for a 100% tuition scholarship and a €9,000 annual stipend.
