The MS provides graduates with the opportunity to enter the engineering profession in the field of design, development, operation and maintenance of modern telecommunication (TLC) systems. The following principles and enabling technologies are covered.
- The physical layer of modern TLC systems (modulation formats, equalization techniques, multiple access, etc.); statistical processing of signals; design and allocation of resources in modern TLC networks.
- CAD of antennas and electromagnetic (EM) circuits; EM compatibility; radio-propagation models and optimization of radio coverage.
- Aspects of circuit electronics and devices of interest for this sector.
The MS includes an overview of modern digital communication systems. Emphasis is placed on cellular networks and navigation systems.
