The International Master’s/Doctoral Program in Integrated Sciences for Global Society at Kyushu University is an interdisciplinary English-taught postgraduate program offered by the Graduate School of Integrated Sciences for Global Society that aims to train globally competent researchers and professionals capable of addressing complex global challenges through integrated academic approaches. The program combines advanced coursework and research across the Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, and Humanities, allowing students to specialise in one of six major academic streams: Comprehensive Earth Sciences, Comprehensive Science of Biological Environment, International Cooperation, Security and Safety, Social Diversity and Coexistence, Language, Media and Communication, or Comprehensive East Asian and Japanese Studies. Emphasising fieldwork, collaborative research, policy analysis, sustainability studies, and cross-cultural communication, the curriculum develops critical thinking, interdisciplinary problem-solving, and leadership skills required to understand and propose solutions for global issues such as climate change, resource management, social diversity, and technological development, culminating in the completion of a Master’s thesis or Doctoral dissertation based on original research for careers in academia, government, NGOs, international organisations, and industry.
