Home

1949	Yokohama National University was established under the National School Establishment Law. Its initial colleges were Liberal Arts and Education, Economics and Engineering.
1962	Master’s Programs in Engineering started.
1967	Branched off from the College of Economics, the College of Business Administration was established.
1972	Master’s Programs in Economics and Business Administration started.
1973	The Faculty of Environmental Science and Technology was established.
1979	Master’s Program in Education started.
1985	The Graduate School of Engineering was reorganized from 12 departments into four departments; Materials Science and Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science, Civil Engineering, Architecture and Marine Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering.
1985-1986	Doctoral Programs started in the Departments of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science, Civil Engineering, Architecture and Marine Technology, Material Science and Chemical Engineering, and Electrical and Computer Engineering.
1990	The Graduate School of International and Business Law was established.
1996	Tokyo Gakugei University United Graduate School of Education was established, aiming at the inter-university doctoral course for teacher teaching.
1997	The College of Education and Human Sciences was established by the reorganization of the College of Education.
1999	The International Graduate School of Social Sciences was established with the integration of the four graduate schools; Economics, Business Administration, International and Business Law, and International Development Studies.
2001	The Graduate School and Faculty of Environment and Information Sciences and the Graduate School of Environment and Information Sciences were established by the consolidation of the Department of Artificial Environment and Systems in the Graduate School of Engineering and the Faculty of Environmental Sciences and Technology.
2001	The Graduate School and Faculty of Engineering were established by the reorganization of the Graduate School of Engineering.
2004	In accordance with the National University Corporation Law, National University Corporation Yokohama National University was established.
2004	Law School was established in the International Gradate School of Social Sciences.
2011	The College of Engineering Science was established by the reorganization of the College of Engineering.
2011	The Graduate School of Urban Innovation was established.
2013	The Graduate School of International Social Sciences was established by the reorganization of the International Graduate School of Social Sciences.
2017	The College of Education was established by the reorganization of the College of Education and Human Sciences.
	The College of Urban Sciences was established.
	The Professional School for Teacher Education was established in the Graduate School of Education.
2018	The Graduate School of Engineering Science was established by the reorganization of the Graduate School of Engineering.
2021	YNU Interfaculty Graduate School of Innovative and Practical Studies was established.
