The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Industrial Design at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation in Kuala Lumpur is a three-year undergraduate programme that focuses on the creative and technical process of designing functional and aesthetically appealing products for everyday use. The programme provides students with a holistic understanding of industrial design by integrating artistic creativity, engineering principles, and business considerations. In the early stages, students develop fundamental skills in drawing, creative thinking, design processes, computer-aided design (CAD), digital illustration, and model making. As the programme progresses, students explore advanced areas such as ergonomics, manufacturing processes, sustainable design, innovation, and advanced 3D modelling while learning to transform user needs and market demands into practical design solutions. The curriculum also includes collaborative projects, industry exposure, and a 16-week internship to prepare students for professional practice. In the final year, students complete major professional and research projects that demonstrate their design expertise, preparing them for careers in product design, furniture design, transport design, packaging design, and other industrial design fields.

Entry Requirements Grade 12 with minimum 60% and above from recognised instituition and with a Credit in Mathematics at Grade 10. Student will get direct year 2 entry if they have a Diploma in Design & Media or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00.
Remarks IELTS waiver possible on the basis of MOI. As part of the entry requirements into the APU Design Degrees, it is mandatory for the applicant to submit either one of the following for evaluation together with complete educational documents: Portfolio Submission & Interview.
