Accommodation

The Student Residence Halls of Ajou University accommodate 2,400 students in four modern buildings, which accounts for 27% of the total students attending Ajou University. All international students are recommended to stay at Hwahong Hall OR International Dormitory, which is a building mainly used for international students on campus. At Hwahong Hall, students can choose two-student shared rooms and four-student shared rooms according to their preference and budget situation. At International Dormitory, students live in two-student shared rooms. At HwaHong and International Dormitory, there are also many convenient facilities for students’ use such as a study room, shower facilities, small kitchen for cooking some snacks, laundry room, gymnasium, yoga room, TV room and many others.

Placement

Ajou University boasts a robust employment rate ranging between 70% and 72% for its graduates, consistently outperforming the national South Korean average of around 63%. The university maintains a strong job retention rate of 89.3%, with top placements in leading companies like Samsung and LG.

Notes

The most direct and convenient way to travel from Incheon International Airport (ICN)—the nearest major international airport to Ajou University—is by taking the Airport Limousine Bus to East Suwon (Dongsuwon).

The total journey takes roughly 1.5 to 2 hours and costs around ₩13,000 to ₩15,000.

Step-by-Step Directions

1. Board the Bus at the Airport:

Terminal 1: Go to Exit 8 on the 1st floor and head to Bus Stop 8A.
Terminal 2: Buy a ticket at the B1 floor ticket machine and go to Platform 36 to board Bus No. A4000.
The bus (bound for East Suwon) departs approximately every 30 minutes.

2. Arrive at East Suwon (Dongsuwon):

Get off at the East Suwon stop, which is the final stop on the route.

3. Head to Ajou University:

From the Dongsuwon terminal, take a local taxi directly to the university campus (around a 10-minute ride).

Alternative Methods

Direct Taxi: A direct taxi ride from Incheon Airport to Ajou University is convenient but much more expensive. A regular taxi costs approximately ₩80,000, while a deluxe (black) taxi will cost around ₩140,000.
Subway: You can also take the AREX (Airport Railroad Express) to Seoul Station, transfer to the Seoul Subway system (Line 1 to Suwon), and take a bus or taxi to Ajou University. However, this involves multiple transfers and is not recommended if you are carrying heavy luggage.
