The Department of Mathematics is a community of scholars committed to excellence in both education and research. Since it was open in 1952, our faculty members have been concentrating on research and education not only in the major areas of pure mathematics, but also in applications of mathematics to the other sciences. Our department has a reputation for both high quality teaching, successful innovation in education and the cutting-edge researches.
The undergraduate program in Mathematics Department provides all kinds of subjects in mathematics such as algebra, analysis, geometry, topology and applied mathematics. We also have a teaching certificate program for a few undergraduate students who want to become a teacher of the middle or high schools.
The Department of Mathematics has both M.S. and Ph.D. programs designed to develop strong research mathematicians who are excellent scholars in the future. All graduate students are able to enjoy close personal contact with faculty.
