Since established in 1951, Metallurgical System Engineering has played a critical role in educating students for developing of metallurgical engineering in Korea. Recently, we are expanding our area to material component, nano materials, semiconductor, energy industry and various functional part materials. Metallic materials are one of the basic materials widely used in industries. Metallurgical System Engineering researches these metal materials and it is a basic engineering science indispensably required in mechanic, architecture, civil engineering, electricity, chemical, aerospace engineering, shipbuilding, semiconductor, nuclear energy and so on. For advancing into the competitive country, experts in metallurgical engineering will play an important role in economic development as a basic industry.
