The Department of Sport Instructor Education at the College of Arts in Jeonbuk National University was established in 2000. We changed the name and the college of our department into the Department of Sport Science at the College of Natural Science in 2004. We employ continuous communication between potential students and professors who specialize in various fields of sports science such as Biomechanics, Sports Management, Sports Marketing, Sports Chemistry, Sports Physiology, Motor Learning and Sports Psychology. The outstanding faculty and students are making an effort to train sports science experts in three areas: research, education and service. Students can get lessons based on theory and practice for 4 years in college. The Department of Sport Science has a good relationship between faculty and students through regular consultation regarding study and career. The graduate program for Master of Sport Science major was opened in 2009. We have various and effective programs such as Topics in Analysis of Sports Nutrition and Ergogenic Aids, Motor Learning and Control, Assessment Instrument on Motor Development, Sports Biomechanics, Topics in Sport Management & Sports Marketing, Sports Psychology and others related to sports. Furthermore, the graduate program for Doctor of Sport Science major was opened in 2011. Even though our graduate programs haven't been open very long, we have effective courses for graduate programs with the financial supports for the graduate students working as research assistants.
