The mission of International Studies is to educate and train the students to become international and global specialists who will play a leading role in the era of globalization with a global perspective and necessary skills in order to pursue careers in such fields as international organizations, global corporations, mass media, NGOs, and the public sector. To achieve this goal, the Department provides a truly inter-and trans-disciplinary curriculum involving international relations, international economics, global business, East Asian area studies, and international development cooperation. It also provides those who want to pursue an intensive major in one of those constituting disciplines with an option to choose one of five major tracks for their graduation. All the major courses in the Department are taught only in English.
