The Department of Counseling Psychology provides psychological counseling services to people in need of psychological assistance due to internal anxieties and interpersonal conflicts in a rapidly changing modern society. The program fosters professionals capable of conducting various activities and research for the improvement of human happiness and health. To this end, a systematic curriculum, various extra-curricular activities, and field-related programs are provided to strengthen students’ theoretical and practical competencies.

The department was established in 1999 as the “Christian Counseling Department”, renamed to the “Counseling Department” in 2005 and the “Department of Counseling Psychology” in 2012. In 2006, the master’s program began in earnest as the Graduate School’s Christian Education Department was renamed to the “Counseling Education Department.”In particular, the addiction counselor training course is being offered as a specialized program with the support of the national CK-II project from 2014 to 2018.

The department provides students with highly specialized theoretical and practical education, opportunities for further education and employment, and offers full support to the students for a healthy and happy campus life.
