The BSCJ provides students with an understanding of the three main components of the justice system: police, courts, and corrections. Through an interdisciplinary approach, the program focuses on the definitions, causes, and prevention of crime, as well as the legal processes, treatment, and rehabilitation of offenders. The study of criminal justice and criminology involves research methods and the application of criminological theories. The BSCJ is suitable for students wishing to pursue a career in law enforcement, legal studies, corrections, social services, or loss prevention.
