The Associate in Arts Degree in Ethnic Studies is intended to provide students with a comparative and multidimensional interpretation of the experiences of African Americans/Black Americans, Asian Americans, Latinas/Latinos, and American Indian/Indigenous/First People/Native Americans. Students study the histories, cultures, and policies of communities of color in the United States to critically analyze issues distinct to race, ethnicity, class, sexuality, identity, agency, and gender while developing a consciousness of cultural pluralism in American society.
