Karolinska Institutet is the largest center for medical education and research in Sweden. It is among the best medical universities in the world. The prestigious institute was established in 1810 by King Karl XIII for the training of army surgeons. The university is in the mission to endeavor better health for all through advanced knowledge of the human body. Notably, the Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institutet selects the Nobel laureates in Medicine or Physiology since 1901.

The university maintains two campuses, one at Solna and the other at Flemingsburg. Solna is situated in the northwest of Stockholm, whereas Flemingsburg at the south. Karolinska Institutet offers bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral as well as short-term executive and professional programs in medical sciences. Aula Medica is a world-class facility of the university that boasts an auditorium with a capacity of 1,000 seats, 100 conference areas, offices for about 90 people, two restaurants and a cafeteria. This is the place where Nobel lectures, scientific conventions, and other academic conclaves are organized. Further, there are advanced laboratories and libraries at the campus supporting qualitative learning.
