The Department of Defense Systems Engineering was established to train naval officer candidates who will take charge of the future defense of Korea based on cutting-edge science and technology. Students in our department receive full scholarships from the Korean government in accordance with the "Military Science Development Cooperation Agreement" (MOU) signed between the Korean Navy and Sejong University in June 2011. They have been substantially trained by the best faculty in Korea. In order to foster talents who will lead Korea’s defense science and technology, we offer education programs consisting of mechanical, shipbuilding, and electronics engineering subjects that are the key elements of weapon systems. We also provide military science courses such as leadership and naval war history to qualify them as naval officers. In addition, we are conducting joint research with domestic and overseas defense companies and research institutes that develop defense weapons systems through industry-academia cooperation. Based on this, we provide deepening education courses linked with actual weapon systems. We are quite sure that our students will become excellent naval officers who will lead the research and development of future naval weapon systems and will be great system engineers in the defense industry.
