You’ll be encouraged to think and write critically and creatively, developing valuable communication and social skills that will be highly attractive to future employers.
Studying a degree in English Literature in a Welsh University adds a unique perspective to your studies. Wales has its own rich history in literature, some of which you can choose to explore whilst studying with us at Bangor University.
Our goal is to introduce you to new writers, as well as known texts. You’ll be encouraged to question what you read: to think differently, develop fresh perspectives, and find innovative ways to interpret and find meaning. Not just through the text, but how it relates to the author, readers and the wider world – historically, at the time of its creation, and in the present day.
Our faculty includes published and award-winning authors, and some of the world’s foremost authorities on Arthurian Literature, Thomas Hardy, Shakespeare, Chaucer, early modern literature, the history of the book, and Welsh writing in English.
