The Department of Digital Media was established in 1998 with the goal of nurturing high-caliber leaders who will lead the digital content industry, a new growth engine and the center of new knowledge-based industries in the 21st century. Based on the curriculum of the Digital Media major, students advance into various fields of media.
The Digital Media major provides education and research in five fields based on ICT.

Each field offers a curriculum that allows students to develop core competencies in the form of tracks, and cultivates integrated capabilities by taking subjects that are closely related to each other and subjects that are borderline between tracks.
The Department of Digital Media aims to cultivate T-shaped convergence talents. It offers integrated curricula from computer science, humanities, social sciences, business, and the arts, tailored to the digital media education landscape. First and second year students are taught foundational courses in basic science, computer science, media psychology, games, storytelling, and design. Third and fourth year students take a variety of in-depth elective courses in planning, design, and software, tailored to each student's talents and interests.
Furthermore, through undergraduate research and intensive training, students build research and practical skills. They also utilize the knowledge and skills they've acquired through media projects to build a portfolio ready for future careers. Furthermore, the department offers courses that allow students to gain hands-on experience in media startups and industry. The Department of Digital Media offers educational opportunities that emphasize diverse intellectual experiences based on solid theoretical knowledge, and has achieved significant success in domestic and international competitions and exhibitions.
