Psychology is the scientific study of the human mind and behavior. Humans are both biological and social beings. To understand this, psychology covers fundamental disciplines such as physiological psychology, which deals with the human brain and bodily organs; cognitive psychology, which deals with human perception, sensation, and thought; and social psychology, which addresses the interactions between individuals and society.
Applying this knowledge, we study applied fields such as clinical, counseling, and health psychology, which focuses on understanding, preventing, and treating human maladjustment; industrial and organizational psychology, which studies relationships between superiors and subordinates within organizations; and consumer psychology, which addresses consumer product purchases and motivations. In short, psychology is the scientific study of all human activities and functions.
Psychology is the study of human behavior and mental processes, requiring not only rigorous observation, experimentation, and rational reasoning, but also a deep understanding and love for humanity.
Therefore, the psychology major aims to foster a scientific mindset by emphasizing research methods and experiments while educating students to understand and accept human beings as they are through realistic and empirical exploration of their diverse psychology and behavior.
