The Master’s in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics is a graduate program focused on the scientific study of language and its real-world applications. It provides students with a solid theoretical foundation in core areas of linguistics—such as phonetics, phonology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics—while also emphasizing applied fields like second language acquisition, language teaching, discourse analysis, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, and corpus linguistics. The program trains students to analyze language structure, understand how languages are learned and used, and apply linguistic theories to solve practical problems in communication and education. Through coursework, research training, and thesis work, students develop strong analytical, research, and academic writing skills. Graduates are prepared for careers in language education, curriculum design, language research, translation, publishing, cultural communication, and language-related positions in government or industry, as well as for advanced doctoral study in linguistics or applied linguistics.
