The Korean Language Course at Soongsil University in Seoul, South Korea is a structured and intensive program offered by the Korean Language Education Center that helps international learners build strong Korean language skills and cultural understanding. The program runs four terms a year (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter) with each term typically lasting about 10 weeks and offering around 200 hours of instruction. Students are placed into six proficiency levels from beginner (Level 1) to advanced (Level 6), and classes focus on integrated skills — listening, speaking, reading, and writing — with emphasis on communication and practical usage. Courses are held Monday through Friday, with morning and afternoon schedules depending on level, and often include cultural lessons to deepen understanding of Korean society. Small class sizes (about 15 students) and experienced instructors support personalized learning, and the program also provides activities such as a helper/ buddy system and cultural experiences to help students adapt to life in Korea and practice Korean in real-world situations. Many students also use the course to prepare for the TOPIK proficiency exam or continue toward academic study in Korea.
NOTE: The university may have additional program-specific eligibility requirements. It is recommended to verify these on the official university website.
