The Opto-Electronics Information Science and Engineering major at Nanjing Normal University is an undergraduate program that integrates the principles of optics, electronics, and information technology to train students in modern photonics and optical-based systems. The curriculum combines foundational courses in physics, mathematics, and electrical engineering with specialized study of optical communication, laser technology, opto-electronic devices, signal processing, and photonic information systems. Students develop both theoretical understanding and practical skills through laboratory work, experiments, and project-based learning, learning how to design, analyze, and apply opto-electronic systems in real-world contexts. Emphasis is placed on technologies that underpin high-speed communication, imaging, sensing, and information processing. Graduates are prepared for careers in optical communications, photonic engineering, research and development, telecommunications, and related high-tech industries, as well as for further study in advanced engineering and applied sciences.
NOTE: The university may have additional program-specific eligibility requirements. It is recommended to verify these on the official university website.
