The Russian Language and Literature program is an undergraduate major offered through the School of Foreign Languages and Cultures that builds students’ proficiency in Russian language skills—including listening, speaking, reading, writing, translation, and interpretation—while also grounding them in Russian literature, culture, and society. The curriculum typically combines intensive language training with courses in Russian linguistics, literary history, cultural studies, and practical communication, enabling students to understand and analyze Russian texts and cultural contexts effectively. Through classroom learning and practical exercises, students develop strong cross-cultural communication abilities, critical thinking, and literary interpretation skills. Graduates are prepared for careers in education, translation and interpretation, diplomacy, international business, media, cultural exchange, and other fields requiring expertise in Russian language and cultural communication, as well as for further study in linguistics, literature, and international studies.
