Biochemistry is the branch of science that explores the chemical processes within and related to living organisms. You learn to use recombinant DNA technology and biotechnology, as well as protein and genetic engineering.
At OSU, students gain a strong foundation in physical and biological sciences that prepares them to succeed in a career in a variety of fields including healthcare, medicine, and veterinary sciences. Students are given the opportunity to experience and establish relationships in the scientific community through hypothesis-driven undergraduate research, as well as campus organizations such as The Biochemistry, Molecular Biology Graduate Student Association, and the Pre-Health Professionals Club.
