The risks associated with natural events are critical for communities, productive activities, infrastructure networks, and cultural heritage. In our modern societies, civil engineers play a fundamental role in mitigating the risks caused by natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, and landslides. The Master's Degree Course in Civil Engineering for Mitigation of Risks from Natural Hazards is jointly offered by the University of Pavia and the Institute for Advanced Study (IUSS) of Pavia and enables students to acquire advanced skills in structural and geotechnical seismic engineering, hydraulic engineering, and hydrogeology. The courses, conducted entirely in English, benefit from highly qualified local professors as well as specially invited international specialists.
