Public Policy and Public Relations (PPPR) is a graduate program designed to provide students with a general foundation in public, private and nonprofit workplaces and their political, economic, social and communicative environments. In addition, the major heightens students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills through various types of pedagogical methods and case studies. The major is unique in its emphasis on the integration of related social science fields including media communication and Public Relations(PR), economics, political science, and public policy with real-world problems that is further enhanced through our interdisciplinary courses. It is an ideal program for those who want to grasp of public policy and media related knowledge and skills in the context of a rare example of an ‘aid-receiver-turned-advanced-economy,’ as Republic of Korea has experienced a tremendous growth in economy, democracy, civil society as well as mass communication and digital media. It is an ideal programme for students from all disciplines who want to complement their undergraduate work with a highly-relevant, public policy and public relations focused specialization. By understanding topics related to how public policies, industries, public relations have evolved and by becoming familiar with subjects linked with contemporary public policy and media related discourses, students will arm with a broad perspective about how our society function in the future.
