Program Description

• Masters in Nursing at the University of Toronto is a full-time program offered for a duration of 3 years.
• The University of Toronto also ranked 1st in Maclean’s Top 10 in 2020 for nursing programs.
• The MN program prepares advanced nurses with specialized knowledge, skills, and expertise in a defined area of nursing.
• The student can choose any one of the following fields after enrolling the program:
  • Clinical Nursing
  • Nurse Practitioner
  • Health Systems Leadership and Administration
• The faculty and student ratio for this program is 1:19.
• Students can apply for scholarship programs initiated by the Government of Canada up to 40,664 USD per year.
• The University of Toronto in the Department of Nursing also offers Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) graduate course:
  • the program prepares scientists with the required analytical and research skills to study nursing, health systems, and other related problems, and
  • students study in one of three research fields:
    • Critical Approaches to Health and Health Care
    • Effective Care and Health Outcomes
    • Nursing Health Systems
• Students may have job opportunities as Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialist, etc with an average salary of 45,000 USD per year.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

• Applicants must hold the BSN degree of the University of Toronto or an equivalent degree, with a final-year average of at least mid-B from a recognized university.
• Applicants from universities outside Canada where English is not the primary language of instruction must provide results of an English language proficiency examination (IELTS and TOEFL as part of their application.
• Tests must have been taken within the last 24 months at the time of submission of their application.
• Students must complete 5.0 full-course equivalents (FCEs) in coursework.

• Completed a 4-year UG degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
• Completed a master’s degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
