The Master’s in Global Business Law at Kobe University is an English‑taught interdisciplinary master’s program offered under the Kobe University Interdisciplinary Master Program (KIMAP) in Global Business Law. Established in spring 2023 as the successor to the previous Global Master Program in Law, the program is jointly run by the Graduate School of Law, Graduate School of Economics, and Graduate School of Business Administration, preparing students to become professionals and specialists in international business law and related fields. Courses and seminars are conducted entirely in English, and the curriculum combines legal theory with interdisciplinary knowledge from economics and business to reflect the complex nature of global commerce and regulatory issues. The program typically takes 1.5 – 2 years to complete with options to begin in April or October, and requires students to complete coursework, gain practical experience (including internships in law firms, arbitral institutions, international organisations, or corporations), and write a master’s thesis under close faculty supervision. Students may also receive certificates or open badges recognising specialised interdisciplinary fields they complete alongside their degree.
