2. What is Physics?
The world of physics has made great strides since the creation of quantum mechanics, relativity, and statistical mechanics in the first half of the 20th century. Amidst this revolution in the scientific world, physics continues to develop to this day, having a major impact not only on natural science, but also on fields such as new materials development, electronics, medical technology, and space technology. Furthermore, with the rapid development of information technology in recent years, "information" has also become a subject of physics. Physics is now playing an important role in quantum computers, big data analysis, artificial intelligence, and more.
Physics is a science that empirically grasps natural phenomena and uses fundamental laws expressed quantitatively to understand the functions of all things in this world. In other words, the progress of physics can be said to be the process of unraveling the specific things that nature provides, rationally understanding the mechanisms of nature, and shaping our worldview.
Physics has two aspects. The first is its ability to grasp things at a very fundamental level, helping us understand the true nature of nature and expanding our intellectual boundaries. The second is its role as the very foundation for technological innovation, contributing greatly to the development of modern cutting-edge technology.
Rather than rushing to answer the question of what it is useful for, we must first ask fundamental questions about what we know and how we know it, and then empirically answer those questions. This approach has enabled physics to contribute to a wide range of diverse fields. Physics is a discipline that teaches us how to understand things and how to demonstrate them.
3. Staff's wishes
