Notes

The most direct and convenient way to travel from Incheon International Airport (ICN), the nearest major international hub, to the KAIST Main Campus in Daejeon, is by taking a direct airport limousine bus followed by a short taxi ride. The total journey takes about 3 hours and costs around KRW 30,000.

1. Airport Limousine Bus to Daejeon

Where to Buy: Purchase your ticket at the Intercity Bus Ticketing Counters located near Gates 4 and 9 (Terminal 1) or Gates 1 and 2 (Terminal 2).
Destination: Ask for a ticket to the Daejeon Government Complex (Jeong-bu Cheong-sa), as this is the most convenient stop for accessing KAIST. Tickets cost roughly KRW 23,700–33,000.
Travel Time: ~2.5 to 3.5 hours depending on traffic.

2. Taxi to KAIST Campus

Where to catch: Once you arrive at the Daejeon Government Complex bus stop, head to the designated taxi stands.
Destination: Tell the driver to take you to KAIST (Ka-i-seu-teu / 카이스트).
Travel Time: ~15-20 minutes.
Cost: Approximately KRW 5,000 to KRW 8,000. You can show the driver the phrase: “카이스트 구성동 캠퍼스로 가주세요” (Please take me to the KAIST Main Campus).

Alternative Route: Train (AREX + KTX)

If you prefer a train journey or missed the direct bus:

Take the Airport Railroad Express (AREX) from Incheon Airport to Seoul Station (~55 minutes).
Transfer to a KTX high-speed train to Daejeon Station (~1 hour).
Take a 20-minute taxi directly from Daejeon Station to the KAIST campus, which will cost about KRW 8,000.
